No real spoilers here but I love the premise of the film: aliens don't show up to save the world or to destroy it. They show up in busted ship, probably on accident, and they end up in refugee camps because they can't get home.Yeah the effects are really seamless, but the performances are what carry this thing. The film does a great job of making you hate the central character & then turning him around 180 into a sort of anti-hero. There was applause at one point, always a good sign. The aliens are subtitled which really helps sell it in a way that would seem clumsy if they spoke plain old English.
The hand-held look wasn't anywhere near as distracting as something like Cloverfield, and the effects are 100x more believable. Totally worth your time. Bonus - I got to see the creepy old lady from Legion on the big screen. Not the red band trailer, but cool enough.

saw it last night. wow. i was nauseous for the first half and freaking out the second. so good.
